I am a little new at this blogging, I’ve only been at it for 7 months and learning a lot from visiting other sites and talking to fellow bloggers. There are some great RW&B blocks I have seen so I hope you visit the other blogs and check them out. The list is at Jane,s Fabric and Quilt, just click on schedule to see all the participants.
Now it is time to get to my blocks. Would you believe that with the large stash that I have that I did not have any really good red or blue, so I ran out to JoAnn’s and picked up a couple of fat quarters. After making this first block I had to make another and another and use the scraps for another.
All my blocks are from Quilters Cache Quilt Blocks Galore. You know how much I love those scant 1/4 seams (yah, right, but I am learning and that 1/4" seam will not beat me). This one is called Pins In Motion. I like to always try a block I have not done before and this one had half square triangles and paper piecing all in one block. And as you can see, I took the pictures in my neighbors yard and at the produce depart at the Safeway. Pinwheels seems to be the blog hops theme so far.
My second block is Crossroads 2, both blocks are 12”. Those are potatoes under that block.
Now this third block was made by mistake, I thought it was a 12” block but it was a 9”, but hay it’s all good. This block is called Steps to the Altar 2. Hmm chili peppers $2.49 a pound, should have picked up some to make some poppers.
Now for the final block of my creation. Yah, I created my own block an it is a work in progress, I call it Zippers, Buttons and Bows, and I use the scraps the I had left (I am going to have to go buy some more of this fabric). This block did not make it out of the house for the photo op.
So I hope you liked my blocks and now it is time for the GIVE AWAY. This is my first ever give away and I hope you like it. As I was look through all that fabric I have, I found this nice little buddle by Bold Over Batiks. This fabric was made in Malaysia and it is a Grab Bag Mix of 100% cotton and hand painted fabrics. It has Batiks 6” & wider and longer with hand painted at least 4.5” wide, all are 21 + longer.
This buddle will be accompany by a security guard who is a bit camera shy at the moment. The security guard is the reason for my blog name and has not been featured on any of my posts, but will be soon (not him exactly but his brothers and sisters). All you have to do is be a follower and leave a comment. If you are not a follower join. Make sure I am able to contact you. I will be dropping your name in a hat and see if one of my cats want to draw out a name. I will mail this out anywhere, USA, Europe, Katmandu. Since I will be in Detroit the week of the 15th, I will post the winner by June 22nd (any body from Detroit, Michigan?).
So now I must end this blog. Thank you for stopping by and don’t forget to stop by the other bloggers for today.
The Slow Quilter (that’s me)
