What Is In The Mail?

Just to let you know, I am back in the swing of things with my sewing.  I have a couple of things that I need to finish and get in the mail for my Pass It Forward Ladies.  Being a perfectionist, what I send out to people I want them to be able to use it, love it, and enjoy it, so it has taken me a little time to really Pass It Forward.

I am making myself come in from work and just start sewing.  I am not even changing my clothes (only if I not really have too).  Because I know me, if I get upstairs I might not get back down.  But today has I was look through a pattern and thinking of the fabric I would use, I heard a dinging sound and realized it was my phone.  It was reminding me that my ministry tonight was heading the pray meeting, and since I am the President I need to get to the church on time.  So know sewing tonight.

This is what was in the mail when I got home.  Book marks from Mimi Jean Pamfiloff.  She is a New York Times best selling author of Romance.  I must add that the books will have you rolling in your sit.  So if you get a chance check her out.  The book marks were free, so I just wanted them.  I read all my books on the Kindle.

The gardener has just finished my back and front yard, so I will show you some pictures of it tomorrow.

O.K. I know this blog is about quilting, but until I have something I can show you then you will have to read this or wait until I have something quilt (y) to share.

Love You

The Inability To Quilt/Blog

As I know you have notice that I have not blogged or shown anything I have been doing lately.  That is because I feel like that commercial :

story_fried_eggs

This is your brain, this is your brain on drugs.  These eggs looks fried, I feel like mines is scrabbled.

Since my last marathon sewing project for the church, I just seem like I cannot get back into the sewing room, every time I start to get a project out to do, I put it back and go to bed.  I don’t know if it is the job or the medication I have changed over to (might be the meds).

Well I might be on the mend since I have just gotten home from work and started my blog before I even go up stair to change clothes, I hoping that I will even start a new project.

Although I have not been quilting or blogging, I have been keeping up with all of the blogs and leaving comments when I can.  I have even join 2 blog hops.

The Tammy  Bag (which I have already made the out side and working on the lining, and the closures just came in last week) and the Stamp on it blog hop.

My son Darnell is appearing in the ensemble cast of The Washington National Opera production of “Show Boat” at The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts here in D.C.  What a proud mother I am.

I am waiting for him to send me some pictures from backstage of some of the cast photos.  Here he is when he was in Romeo et Juliet.

I even made a pair of ear rings and have a necklace someone brought me back for Africa that will match it.

Well, if I am going to get sewing done tonight I will have to cut this short.   More things to come this week.

Happy Quilting to All of you

I Am Back!! What Have I Been Doing?

O.K.  yes I have been missing from blogging for the last what 3 weeks.  I ran into one of my Bee girl friends at the Sew & Quilt Expo in Baltimore yesterday (more about that)  and she asked me if I was still pissed off with Mother Nature.  I realized I really needed to get back to blogging befor you all forgot about me.

As you know I was working on a project for my church for Ladies Day, I did not take many pictures, put most of all my Red Skin items sold.

The first row of bags are creations from a most fabulous Fiber Artist Sandy Hassan who is also a friend and Bee member.  She was helping me out by giving me some of her bags to sell.  Check out her website and see what she has been doing.

The other bags below are the ones that I did.  The blue/gold/black bag is the Bermuda Bag designed by Nancy Green of Pink Sand Beach Designs.

As I mention I went to the Sew & Quilt Expo that was moved from Chantilly, VA to Baltimore.  I took the MARC train over to Baltimore which was a 35 minute ride and the Circular bus was free and let me off just a 1/2 block away for the Convention Center.  I most say it was a disappointment.  The vendors that I was look forward seeing there were not there and there was not much to get excited about, not even the fabric, which was like $10.75 a yard – OH MY!!!!

The most complaint I was hearing was the parking, which was $30 and having to walk 3 to four block to the Convention Center.

My Guild did have some quilt up for show.

Gwen Hunt.  Yes she was there and we walked around the show together.  She had a day off for a change.  It was good seeing her, and hope that she will get a Saturday off to join us at the meetings again.

Well have have some other things to show you from the show that I made while I was at the show and what I brought, but I will save that until tomorrow.  I have to run off to the Bowling meeting.  YAH!!! It is Friday Night Bowling season from May until August and I am looking forward to getting back with my team and having fun on Friday Nights.

So I am Back Bloggers and happy to Blog once again.
