O.K. this has nothing to do with quilting, but until I get back from my vacation, I plan to blog on something so this is it.
Today I went to work. Yes, I know I am on vacation, put since I had to run downtown today, I stopped by the office to take care of some issues. I was only there for 3 hours and off to the Old Post Office for my pedicure and eyebrow arch. Got to look good for my Texas trip.
That is a great pedicure right? Anyways, I got home about 12:30, and thought I get started and iron my clothes and get them packed. Why do we iron our clothes, and by the time we get to were we are going, we have to iron them again, o.k. touch them up? After ironing only three things, I decided to hell with it pack them and iron as I go. That was because I was sitting in front of the T.V. watch a tear jerker of a movie.
Oh, yah, Stepmom, with Julia Roberts, Susan Sarandon and Ed Harris. It was a great movie and the song keeps playing in my head, “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”, Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell.
As I was crying my eyes out watching this movie, I thought of other movies that I can watch any time and still cry.
Yes, the all time cry your eyes out movie “An Affair to Remember” with Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr. The scene when Deborah Kerr is on the coach and Cary Grant realizes she can’t walk. “If you can paint, then I can walk.” Tell me you did not boil your eyes out crying, I have to keep tissue on the ready for this movie.
“Brian’s Song, with James Caan and Billy Dee Williams. It was a heartbreaking movie to watch, but man oh man, I love James and Billy Dee. I hear the theme song to this and it is all over.
The last of the tear jerkers is Steel Magnolias, Sally Field, Dolly Parton, Shirley MacLain, Olympia Dukakis, Daryl Hannah and Julia Roberts. No one, but NO ONE can make you cry like Sally Field. I seen her in movies crying and I cry right along with her. It was a funny movie and heartfelt. Olympia Dukakis had me rolling on the floor during the Funeral and Sally was crying and she said, “Hit Weezer”. The crying stopped and I laugh.
I am not turning into a movie critic. What movies make you cry every time to see them?
